The Netherlands is experiencing a spell of warm and sunny weather, with temperatures expected to soar beyond 30°C in many inland areas by Friday. However, weather experts caution that these conditions are likely to shift dramatically as thunderstorms are predicted to develop later in the day.
Thursday’s forecast promises widespread sunshine with temperatures peaking at around 27°C. This warming trend is set to continue into Friday, where inland regions could see temperatures climb between 30°C and 33°C. Meanwhile, the coastal areas will remain relatively cooler, influenced by a westerly sea breeze.
As the week progresses, meteorologists have issued a warning for potential severe weather on Friday afternoon. Thunderstorms are expected to approach the southern part of the country, bringing with them the possibility of heavy rain, hail, and strong gusts of wind. In response, a yellow weather warning has been put in place for the provinces of Noord-Brabant, Gelderland, and Limburg starting from 5 p.m.
Despite the looming thunderstorms, Saturday is predicted to maintain its warm and summer-like conditions across inland areas, with temperatures ranging from 25°C to 28°C. However, those heading to the beaches and coastal regions should prepare for cooler temperatures.
Looking toward the end of the weekend, cloud cover is likely to increase on Sunday, accompanied by a chance of showers. As we move into the following week, the weather is expected to become more unsettled, with an increased likelihood of rain and showers. Daytime temperatures are projected to decrease, with highs dropping below 20°C on average.
